AirBridge.
Tap Share. It lands.
Your Mac shows up in your phone's share sheet, and your phone shows up in your Mac's share menu. Files and copied text go straight across your Wi-Fi, encrypted end to end. They never touch a server.
What it does
AirDrop for a Mac and an Android phone.
Every direction
Phone to Mac, Mac to phone, phone to phone. Send to several devices at once, from the share sheet on Android or Finder, Photos and Safari on the Mac.
Encrypted end to end
Every transfer uses the Noise protocol with keys that never leave your devices. No accounts.
Wakes the other side
Sending to a sleeping Mac wakes it first. Sending from one phone to another wakes the app if it was closed. Dropped transfers resume where they stopped.
Copied text, on purpose
Press C on the Mac to send what you selected, or share text on the phone. Nothing syncs on its own, password-manager copies are held back, and the Mac keeps a history in Clips.
No accept button
Your own devices are trusted, so files just land in Downloads AirBridge, or a folder you pick. Turn on Ask before receiving if you want to approve each one.
Sees who's around
On your phone, each device shows whether it's online, asleep, or off this Wi-Fi, before you send.
How it works
Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi. Sending from outside your home network isn't supported yet.
- 01Pair onceScan the QR code your Mac shows, or type the 4-digit code next to it. Both screens then show the same code; tap They match.
- 02Share from any appPick AirBridge in the share sheet, then tap a device, or tick several.
- 03It's thereThe file goes straight across your Wi-Fi and lands in Downloads AirBridge. Tap the notification to open it.
Install
On your Mac
- 01Download AirBridge.dmg, open it and drag AirBridge into Applications.
- 02Open AirBridge. macOS blocks it the first time because it isn't notarised by Apple. Click Done, then in System Settings Privacy & Security scroll down and click Open Anyway. You only do this once: updates arrive inside the app and never ask again.
- 03A welcome window walks you through pairing your first phone. AirBridge then lives in the menu bar: drop files on its icon, or open it to send text.
On your phone
- 01Download the APK on your phone and open it. Allow installs from your browser when Android asks.
What it can access
- Local network
- To reach your other devices on the same Wi-Fi.
- Camera (phone)
- Only to scan the pairing QR code, on the device itself.
- Notifications
- Shows progress and tells you when something arrives.
- Updates
- A daily check at dl.seqavo.com for a new version, on both Mac and phone. Nothing about you or your files is sent.
- Google push
- Used only to wake a phone whose app is closed, through Firebase and a small signed relay. It carries no file data and no file names.
- Analytics
- None. No tracking. After a crash, the Mac offers to send a report, and nothing is sent unless you click Send.

Questions
- Is AirBridge AirDrop for Android?
- It works like AirDrop between a Mac and an Android phone: your Mac shows up in the phone’s share sheet and your phone shows up in the Mac’s share menu.
- Do my files go through a server?
- No. Files and text go straight across your Wi-Fi, encrypted end to end with the Noise protocol. There is no account and no cloud.
- Do both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
- Yes. Sending from outside your home network is not supported yet. If a transfer is interrupted, it resumes where it stopped.
- Can I send to more than one device?
- Yes. Tick several devices and the file goes to all of them. A phone can pair with Macs and other phones; a Mac pairs with as many phones as you have.
- What do I need?
- A Mac with macOS 13 or later and an Android phone with Android 10 or later. Both must be on the same Wi-Fi.
